I much prefer D2 from my childhood but I also think D3 has its charms.Imo it doesn't hurt to start with D3 (I would definitely wait for a sale or buy a used copy from GameStop) simply because it doesn't take long to play through. They are very different experiences even though they are both dungeon crawlers, and that's why you will get many different opinions.

No pvp experience in D3, it's in the game but it's trash. Its customisation is more so in the gear. That one really holds your hand, there is no real unique builds because you learn everything. Also D2 has one of the best PvP experiences if you care about that sort of thing.ĭ3 on the other hand is also good in its own ways but really dumbed down. Though you can beat the normal difficulty with pretty much anything, beyond that it's tough depending on your skill tree setup and class.
